A Basic Problem People Have

I remember someone wrote something on these lines but forget who.  A basic problem people have revolve around them feeling if they are in control of their own environment or not.  If a person feels they are not in control of their own environment they have five basic avenues.

1. They become suicidal.

2. They go insane.

3. They use drugs.

4. They turn to religion.

5. They get control of their own environment.

1 and 2 have been proven by putting someone in solitary confinement for too long. This strips them completely from any kind of control of their own environment.  This feeling can be felt in many ways as one struggles to fit in to a society and they feel they are failing.

There are many reasons a person may fall into drug use.  It still boils down to coping with not being in control of your own environment.  Your body is your castle what you put in it should be up to you.  Needing drugs to make you function is a form of not being in control because you are not functioning normally without drugs. Eating and drinking is not enough.  Many drugs are addicting and can lead to drug abuse.

Drug abuse can start for young adults as peer pressure to fit into a social network.  Young adults are particularly vulnerable because they are at a time in their lives where they feel they have least control over their own environment.  They are under parental control, forced to go to school, and are trying to fit into social networks while under the pressure of preparing for adult life.

Drug abuse can be a way to ease a person’s pain of not being in control of their own environment.  Drugs can even alter their perception of how they are dealing in the control of their own environment. Drug abuse is a catch 22 the more of a drug you use the more of the drug you will need to use which makes you less and less in control of your own environment which may lead to 1 and 2.

4 is religion which was basically created because early human beings did not understand the environment they were living in.  In order to feel in control of what was perceived to be supernatural events a supernatural father or mother figure was created in the form of Gods.  It was soon found power can be gained to those who were able to explain environmental events and social events through the use of a God.  Having a supernatural parent figure helping you stay in control of your own environment is an alteration of reality.  This alteration of reality is further heightened by the belief a supernatural being has a perfect environment set up for you when your personal environment ends. 

No matter how it is cut religion is an alteration of reality to help cope with not being in control of your own environment. This is why a person in prison or using drugs can be easily switched to religion. It is why no atheists lie in their own death beds. 

5 is simple it is when you realize you are in control of your own actions.  This only works when you actually are.  Being in control of your own environment is rare.  Living in a social network it is a façade at its best.    

     

The Legalization of All Drugs

As populations grow governments will have to choose what its priorities are.  Who should a government care for more drug addicts or its children?  Legalizing all drugs would free up enough resources in the courts, jails, prisons, and police agencies to revamp all our school systems.

A government does not have the right to say one drug “alcohol” is legal while other drugs are not.  Governments should not be allowed to work in a stupid manner.  The supply and demand prohibition creates makes prohibition stupid.

Governments of free countries do not have the right to set themselves up as babysitters to its adult population.  I say to such governments “Grow up”

Parents will argue “I don’t want my children to become drug addicts” But when they do anyways they argue “Why is my child serving such a harsh sentence for drug abuse?” Arguing one stance and then the other makes them self serving hypocrites.

Pick and choose who do you care about more a drug addict or your children?

If you say what if the drug addict is a child then you miss the point.  Part of revamping our school systems will be drug prevention programs and better monitoring of our children.

Freeing up our courts, jails, prisons, and police agencies of drug related offences will give them time and resources to concentrate on violent and sex offenders.

Quit being stupid.

Occupy Wall Street

If you are going to protest know what you are protesting for.  No solution or goals equal no results.  If you are creating a political movement, then create a political party with a name.  As a new political party and protesting have a list of grievances. 

A political Party name might be “The People’s Party”

A list of grievances might be as follows:

1. All citizens, business, and corporations must pay equal percentage of taxes regardless of income.
2. Government funded TV stations will be set up for all political campaigns. Money will no longer be the deciding factor.
3. No contribution whatsoever is allowed to any political campaign.  Politicians are no longer for sale.
4. There will be absolutely no lobbying.
5. The People will have the right and the power to impeach the entire Senate and Congress if deemed necessary.
6. The People will have the right and power to impeach the president if deemed necessary.
7. Congressmen, Senators, and all judges including the Supreme Court judges will be limited to three 4 year terms or two 6 year terms.
8. The government will implement a failsafe plan to absorb the unemployed into government jobs during any economical downfall and give tax incentives to business and corporations who help absorb unemployed if deemed necessary.
9. Corrupt politicians if found guilty will face 10 times the normal punishment.
10. A league of Scientists will be created to mandate laws that must be enforced to insure the safety of this planet.
11. There will be three forms of public schools which will teach our children there is consequences for their actions.
1. Public schools as they are today.
2. All male and all female Public schools wearing uniforms.
3. All male and all female military boarding schools.
12. The government shall legalize all drugs.
13. Other countries that do not control their borders and citizens form illegally crossing will forfeit sections of their land as payment for costs ensued protecting our borders.
14. Countries that due not control their citizens from terrorist activities against the United States of America will have all their airline services shut down until our enemies are handed to us.
15. Any criminal action by any religious factor if found guilty will serve 100 times the normal punishment.         

No Child Left Behind

Our Public school system is a disgrace it does not teach there are consequences for ones actions.  Lack of discipline in children’s lives breeds convicts.  Your child can learn now or learn later in a prison system.

I do not believe in physical punishment it is a form of humiliation.  "Time Out" I believe to be the answer.  It just needs to be implemented on a larger scale in our public school system.

I believe there should be three forms of public schools

1. Regular public schools like we have today.

2. All female all male schools with uniforms.

3. All female all male military boarding school with uniforms.

If a child creates too much of a disturbance in school 1 or does not pass the curriculum they will have to go to school number 2

 If a child creates too much of a disturbance in school 2 or does not pass the curriculum they will have to go to school number 3 away from home.

When and if they start improving they can work their way back up to school number 1.

This teaches there are consequences for ones actions and will ready a child for the work place and the real world.

When and if a child hits school number 3, part of the stay there will be to understand a child’s wants and needs a physiological understanding to better help with a child’s progress.

This is a system that can truly state NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND.   

How to create jobs now

The problem at hand is the creation of jobs.  How it happened and why is not important right now because that does not create jobs. Trying to bring jobs back from where they were lost will take too much time.  Stop warring on other countries and using that money to create more jobs will also take too much time.  People need help now the solution is creating more jobs as fast as possible with what we have at hand.  What we have at hand are the jobs that are still here.  This turns the problem into a scheduling problem.  The object is to work more people into the jobs that are still here.  There can be many approaches and variations on scheduling more people into the same position. This will not work at every jobsite but I feel it can be implemented in enough jobsites across America to make a huge difference. 

The new working schedule would be 4 ten hour days of work and 4 days off.  Let’s say a company has 50 employees they start working 4 ten hour days and take 4 days off.  The company hires 50 more people to work during the other 50 employee’s days off working 4 ten hour days also. It is simple you create twice as many jobs in the same position.

When one crew is working the other is off.

The problem with this system is it's a scheduling nightmare and a person working this schedule will lose 280 hours a year.  This is because 52 weeks of work becomes 45 weeks of work.  Some year’s one crew will have a couple of extra days than the other crew.  I believe people unemployed will be willing to work this shift because work is work.  The problem in changing to this system will be with the employed and the unions.

This system will not work in every work place.  Places working 24 hours a day would have a problem because they usually have 3 shifts of 8 hours a day.  Working 10 hours a day would do more damage than good.

I believe working 10 hours on and taking 4 days off is best because a person already loses too many hours a year working this schedule, working 8 hours a day would make this loss too great.  Working 12 hours a day would be optional but I feel working 10 hours a day without overtime is justifiable when taking the four days off but do not believe this is so when working 12 hours a day.  Working 12 hours a day in my experience is not productive people are more at risk for injuries due to fatigue .

I believe a 10 hour day is more productive because lag time is made up after lunch in the extra 2 hours.  10 hours a day does not have a compiling effect on a person’s stamina as 12 hours a day does.

4 days on 4 days off in some work places will take away the cutting edge a person acquires from working 8 hours a day five days a week and may cause more accidents.

The benefits from working this schedule is it puts enough people back to work now to create a trickle up effect.  It is a fair work week working as many days as taking off.  Parents being off at different times would not need daycare and could raise their own children. It lessens the bite of working your whole life and only retiring after your physical abilities have diminished because your government is hoping you die before it has to pay too much out.  It takes this bite out because you can now enjoy your life away from work throughout your life. I believe people working this shift for a small length of time will never want to go back to a 5 day work week.

The more people working the better the economy will get.  It will also fix healthcare as more people will be paying into it.  It will also fix social security and eventually the retirement age can be lowered. 

This system can be achieved by giving employers tax incentives for working this schedule.  An employer could pay half as much vacation and sick pay because so much more time is taken off from work, working twice as many people an employer will only break even.  I believe to sweeten the deal holiday pay should be given up for the same reason of having already so much time away from work.

America will become far more productive as companies will be working 10 hours a day 7 days a week.  Capitalism will not die because people can do whatever they want on their time off.  4 days off gives people time to start new adventures, and gives them more time to spend their money as they enjoy life more.         

Although capitalism is encouraged I believe a new ideology needs to be encouraged as well with this new working schedule. This would be the more hours a person works over 4 10hr days the more work they take from some one else.

For every job created two people are needed which should keep up with population growth, and the time to do this is now.  This country does not have the time or funds to do anything else
